The Courage for Love - Richard Waters
Illuminare - Elaine Hagenberg
Featuring the Voices of Southern Kentucky, WKU Chorale and guest instrumentalists. Eybler’s setting of the Os Justi will open the concert with a celebratory and joyful tone. Richard Waters’ Courage for Love is a gathering of poems, primarily those of Kentucky native Wendell Berry, with reflections on love, nature, and hope. Elaine Hagenberg’s Illuminare is a thoughtful journey from light to darkness to light again, with moments tender reflection and moments of bombastic fire.
Holidays on the Hill with the WKU Symphony
Featuring the Southern Kentucky Choral Society and the WKU Symphony.
Along with holiday favorites from the WKU Symphony, the Voices of Southern Kentucky will present the world premiere of Dr. Matthew Herman’s Comfort and Joy. This is the third and final carol arrangement commissioned by the WKU Symphony and the Voices of Southern Kentucky, and is sure to send you hom humming happily and in the right spirit of this festive season!
